This Bonfire night, why not set your acoustic, artistic and culinary senses alight by helping to celebrate the music, film and culture of Africa’s first independent nation, Ghana.

This explosive odyssey into the heart of Ghana is presented by Africa Now and Then, the educational and cultural club night that seeks to showcase the rich and diverse traditions of the 53 nations of the African continent.

Activities on the night will include:

  • A fashion show by one of the UK’s hottest designers, Maame Baryeh.
  • A screening of the world’s first ever pigeon musical, “Coz Ov Moni”.

There will also be two Q&A sessions, led by Eddie and Maame, after their respective sets, which will provide a real insight into the worlds of photography and UK fashion.

“The Africa Now and Then events are essentially a master class into the rich and diverse experiences and traditions of the 53 individual nations of Africa,” explains event organiser Kyei Boateng. “Each event will provide a journey into the creative and cultural offerings of each country, which will help to demonstrate the unique vibrancy of Africa.”

“Until recently Ghana was one of the best kept secrets of the continent, but I want this night to place the spotlight on Ghana’s rich culture, sumptuous cuisine and intoxicating music, and to unveil the true essence of this country.”
